About

My name is Simegn Collins and I am a student at Slippery Rock University studying  communication Media and Sports Management, concentrated in digital media productions, as well as minors in graphic design and leadership. My twin brother and I were adopted from Ethiopia at the age of seven and we raised in a military family, which gave me the unique opportunity to travel extensively and experience diverse cultures. After living in Europe for a few years, we moved to the United States and I grew up in Colorado, where I completed my primary and secondary education. My global experiences and upbringing deeply influenced my passion for art. In school, art became my favorite subject, and it helped me cultivate my creativity and artistic abilities.

I have always had a strong passion for creativity and saw myself making a career in the creative field, particularly in visual communication. From a young age, I was always recognized for my creative abilities by others. One of my biggest goals in life is to use my creative gifts to make a positive impact in the world through a career in digital media. This is my inspiration for developing my clothing brand. I am ambitious and driven, looking to use my abilities to make a great impact.

Over the summer, I completed my internship as a digital marketer for Hybrid Storytellers LLC, a small marketing company located in Pittsburgh, where I work with my team to create strategic plans and execute unique content for our clients. I managed social media for eight different hospitality businesses, increasing sales and foot traffic by more than 10,000 new monthly website visitors through SEO strategies. I’ve learned so much from the unique challenges while running my clothing brand and this made me resilient. â€‹â€‹
